Well, guys, there are only about four weeks of school left. I don’t know about your motivation level, but for me, the struggle is real. Winter break is so close I can practically taste it! And that makes me just want to throw my school work out the window and forget about it.
But I can’t do that!
At least, I shouldn’t do that…
These last few weeks before school lets out are some of the most important. Now is not the time to let your grades slump! Not to mention there is finals week looming before us like a big scary giant…
So with that in mind, I thought I’d share four ideas that help keep me motivated when it comes to that last little bit of school before a break.
1.) Make an Effort to Put in Effort!
I know at this point I just want to be lazy. At the beginning of the year I crossed all my T’s and dotted all my I’s meticulously, but now I’m beginning to just let things slide. Wake yourself up! The work you are doing now is just as important (if not more!) than the work you did at the beginning of the year! Don’t let those grades slide down now! And remember, we still have finals week to go through… So continue putting effort into your work!
2.) Make It Fun
If we must do school we might as well make it fun! Try listening to some music while you study. I like to listen to movie soundtracks because they don’t have words. I recommend the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack! Its a lot of fun. You could also try studying with a group of friends. Laughter is an amazing cure for just about anything!
3.) Offer Yourself a Reward
Bribery. It can be such a useful tool when you have a mountain load of homework in front of you. Not motivated? Try chocolate! Or promise to take yourself out for ice cream if you put in a diligent amount of work. At least it gives you something to look forward to!
4.) Stay Positive, You’re Almost Done!
Try to keep a positive attitude throughout. After all, you are almost done! The light is at the end of the tunnel. If you keep trucking on, you will reach it! And how much more happy will we be when we reach the end with good grades. I know I am just looking forward to that satisfaction of a job well done. And we’re almost there! Winter break is just around the corner!
